This year begins my 12th year of teaching in Baldwin County, and my 7th at Fairhope High School. Over the years I have taught many subjects, but my favorites by far have been Human Anatomy & Physiology and Genetics. I guess this makes sense as I was pre-nursing before I changed my major and decided to go into teaching. In my teaching career I have met many remarkable young people.
I have been married over 30 years and I have 2 daughters, Kathleen and Jordyn. This year our family grew by one as my oldest daughter got married. We actually had 2 weddings, one in June in Iowa where her husband is from and then another ceremony in December at Orange Beach where all Kathleen's friends and family could attend. Kathleen and her new husband live in Chicago. I hope one day soon they will move closer to home.
My youngest daughter Jordyn is currently living in Atlanta. Though Atlanta is a lot closer than Chicago, I still miss seeing her regularly.

Wound Lab
This past year I incorporated some new and fun labs in my human anatomy classes. One of them was a wound lab. Here are some pictures of the wounds the students created.
This is one of my favorite places in the whole world and it's in my own back yard. This is my koi pond. Right now it has about 15 koi in it. I love the sound of the waterfall. When I have time and the weather permits, I like to sit by the pond to drink my first cup of coffee. It is so peaceful and relaxing. We've tried to name most of the fish. Their names either describe their physical features or their personality. My goal is to be able to feed them from my hand.
